  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the puff pastry and cut heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Spread a layer of the chocolate mixture onto half of the heart-shaped pastry pieces.
  5. Place the remaining heart-shaped pastry pieces on top and press the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the pastries with the egg mixture for a shiny finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow the pastries to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve with fresh strawberries on top.
