  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, brown sugar, and butter. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
  6. Spoon the cherry preserves over the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Sprinkle the almonds on top.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
