Chocolate Almond Macaroons
Macaroons are often confused with macarons, but they are actually two different types of cookies. Macaroons are made with coconut or almond flour, while macarons are made with almond flour and filled with various flavored fillings.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar, almond extract, and salt. Continue beating until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture until well combined.

Top each macaroon with a few sliced almonds.
