Hazelnut Shortbread
Shortbread originated in Scotland and has been enjoyed since the 12th century. It was traditionally made with only three ingredients: butter, sugar, and flour.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 65 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 6.

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, ground hazelnuts, and salt.

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.

Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the shortbread cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
