Sparkling Red Velvet Bundt Cake
Red velvet cake is believed to have originated in the Victorian era, and its signature red color comes from a chemical reaction between the cocoa powder and buttermilk.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.

In a small bowl, combine the buttermilk, white vinegar, and baking soda. Add the buttermilk mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the flour mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.

Pour the batter into the prepared bundt cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake is completely cooled, dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with sparkling sugar.
