  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. In a baking dish, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce. Mix well.
  8. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
