Cherry Coffee Cake
Coffee cake does not actually contain coffee as an ingredient. It is called coffee cake because it is often enjoyed with a cup of coffee.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 70 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Top with half of the cherries.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the cherries.

Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, cherries, and brown sugar mixture.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
