  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add the butter mixture, stirring well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Stir in the butterscotch chips and chopped pecans.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 30 minutes.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.
