  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate together, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and instant coffee.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes.
  10. In the meantime, prepare the mocha buttercream by beating the powdered sugar, softened unsalted butter, and brewed coffee together until light and fluffy.
  11. Once the brownies have cooled, spread the mocha buttercream over the top.
  12. Cut into squares and serve.
