Lemon squares are believed to have originated in the United States and have become a popular dessert in many countries around the world.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, and 50 grams of granulated sugar. Mix until crumbly.

Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.

In another bowl, whisk together the remaining granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and eggs.

Pour the lemon mixture over the baked crust.

Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until set.

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top.

Cut into squares and serve.
