In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, and salt.

In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.

Add the yeast mixture, wheat beer, butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the rolls with water and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool on a wire rack.
