Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and lemon zest until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the milk and lemon juice. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, sift powdered sugar over the top of the cake. Slice and serve.
