Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9-inch round or square baking pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
