Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. In a separate bowl, prepare the vanilla instant pudding according to the package instructions using milk. Set aside.
  5. Once the cakes are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Once the cakes have cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the caramel sauce evenly over the top of the cake layer. Sprinkle half of the chopped pecans on top.
  7. Place the second cake layer on top of the first layer. Spread the remaining caramel sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle the remaining chopped pecans on top.
  8. Pour the prepared vanilla pudding over the top of the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
  9. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
  10. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
  11. Refrigerate the torte for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy!
