Pull-Apart Spider Web Cupcakes

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

In a small bowl, sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add the black food coloring and enough water to make a thick glaze.

Transfer the glaze to a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.

Starting at the center of each cupcake, pipe concentric circles to create a spider web pattern.

Place a plastic spider ring on top of each cupcake.
