Potato Skins
Potato skins were first popularized in the United States in the 1970s and became a popular appetizer in restaurants and bars.
This is vegetarian and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 80 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 8.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Wash and scrub the potatoes.

Pierce the potatoes with a fork several times.

Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes.

Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop out the flesh, leaving a thin layer of potato on the skin.

Brush the potato skins with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Place the potato skins back on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until crispy.

Remove the potato skins from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits.

Return the potato skins to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Remove the potato skins from the oven and top with chopped green onions.

Serve hot with sour cream on the side.
