Slice the green tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.

In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg.

Dip each tomato slice into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Fry the tomato slices in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Remove the fried tomatoes from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

In a small saucepan, combine the white vinegar, sugar, dill, chives, parsley, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool.

Once the pickling liquid has cooled, pour it over the fried green tomatoes in a shallow dish.

Let the tomatoes marinate in the pickling liquid for at least 30 minutes.
