Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 3 equal parts.

Roll each part into a long rope and braid them together.

Transfer the braided dough to a greased baking sheet and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise for another 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Brush the challah with beaten egg yolk.
