Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the apricot nectar, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake has cooled, spread apricot jam over the top.

Sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
