  2. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
  8. Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft.
