Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large plastic bag, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Seal the bag and shake well to mix.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add them to the bag. Seal the bag again and use your hands to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the banana mixture into the bag and seal it. Shake the bag gently until the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Add the chocolate chips to the bag and gently knead the dough through the plastic until the chocolate chips are evenly distributed.
  6. Cut a corner of the plastic bag and pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 8 scones.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the scones cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve the scones warm or at room temperature.
