Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the cherries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour the cherry mixture into a pie dish and sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly on top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
