  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas. Add buttermilk and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and lemon zest.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the blueberries and walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
