Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
-
In a small bowl, steep the black tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the black tea, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Fold in the chopped apples.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Optional: Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving.
-
Slice and serve.
