  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) tube pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar on medium-high speed for 4 to 5 minutes, until light and fluffy. Reduce the speed to low and add the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla and sour cream. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture to the batter until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
  5. Spread half of the batter evenly in the pan. Sprinkle with half of the brown sugar mixture, then spread the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  6. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
