Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsalted butter, salt, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until crumbly.

Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with ground cinnamon and brown sugar. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
