In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish.

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cream of tartar, and vanilla extract. Beat until stiff peaks form.
