Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the black tea bags in the hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and set aside.
-
In a 9-inch (23 cm) oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the melted butter and cook until the sugar starts to caramelize, about 5 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss the apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning.
-
Arrange the apple slices in the skillet, overlapping them slightly. Drizzle the steeped tea and vanilla extract over the apples.
-
Roll out the puff pastry sheet to fit the skillet and place it over the apples, tucking the edges down into the skillet.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let the tarte tatin cool in the skillet for 10 minutes.
-
Carefully invert the tarte tatin onto a serving plate. Serve warm with whipped cream and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
