Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds and is commonly used in Middle Eastern cuisine.

In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and tahini until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Cover the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
