Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Peel and grate the sweet potatoes.

Rinse and drain the black beans.

In a large bowl, combine the grated sweet potatoes, black beans, breadcrumbs, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Shape the mixture into patties and place on the grill. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.

While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado salsa by dicing the avocado, tomato, and red onion. Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and season with salt and pepper.

In a small bowl, combine minced garlic and mayonnaise to make the garlic spread.

Toast the burger buns on the grill.

Assemble the burgers by spreading the garlic spread on the bottom bun, placing a sweet potato patty on top, and topping with avocado salsa.
