  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  6. Flatten each dough ball and place a spoonful of sweet red bean paste in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat.
  8. Fry the piroshki in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  9. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
