Swedish Heirloom Cookies, also known as ‘Drömmar’ in Swedish, are traditional Swedish butter cookies that have been passed down through generations.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until a soft dough forms.

Cover the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork and sprinkle pearl sugar on top.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
