  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and dice the pears.
  3. In a bowl, combine the diced pears, almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the pear mixture to the skillet and cook until the pears are tender, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. Lay out the phyllo dough sheets and cut each sheet into 4 squares.
  8. Place a spoonful of the pear mixture onto each square.
  9. Fold the squares in half diagonally to form triangles.
  10. Press the edges together to seal the turnovers.
  11. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  14. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
