Cinnamon rolls are believed to have originated in Sweden and are traditionally eaten on October 4th, known as Cinnamon Roll Day.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a mini muffin pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until a soft dough forms.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Brush the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  7. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  8. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place each piece into a muffin cup.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
