Ranger cookies are named after the Girl Scouts of the USA, who used to sell them as a fundraiser.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Stir in the rolled oats, corn flakes, chocolate chips, and chopped pecans.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
