  2. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, butter, heavy cream, and corn syrup.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 250°F (121°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in sea salt and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture into the prepared baking dish and let it cool for 30 minutes.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled caramel and spread it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
  9. Let the chocolate caramel cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  10. Once set, cut into individual servings and enjoy!
