Salted Caramel Macarons
Macarons are said to have originated in Italy, but they gained popularity in France and are now considered a quintessential French dessert.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 75 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 6.

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until well combined.

Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.

Tap the baking sheet on the counter a few times to remove any air bubbles.

Let the macarons rest for 30 minutes to develop a skin.

Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely.

Once cooled, spread a small amount of salted caramel sauce onto the bottom of one macaron shell.

Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes on top of the caramel.

Sandwich with another macaron shell.

Repeat with the remaining macaron shells.
