  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the pecans.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the baking soda with 2 tablespoons of water. Add this mixture to the saucepan and stir until the praline mixture becomes foamy.
  6. Pour the praline mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes.
  9. Once cooled, break the praline into pieces.
