  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread cubes, cooked onion and celery, parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Pour chicken broth over the bread mixture and stir until evenly moistened.
  5. Beat the egg in a small bowl, then add it to the bread mixture. Stir until well combined.
  6. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
