Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Fold in the rhubarb and walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
