Refrigerator rolls are called so because the dough can be refrigerated for a few days before baking, allowing you to have fresh rolls whenever you want.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Add the milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.

Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a kitchen towel, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
