In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until well combined.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Place the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on top, then pour the remaining batter over them.
