Pudding-Filled Donut Holes
Donut holes were invented by a 19th-century American ship captain who didn’t like the doughy centers of traditional donuts.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 30 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 10.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Remove the donut holes from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Once cooled, use a piping bag or small knife to fill each donut hole with pudding.

Dust the filled donut holes with powdered sugar.
