Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the egg mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring continuously.

In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.

Fold in the pineapple chunks.

Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
