  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar.
  2. Add the egg and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Mix until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into small balls.
  7. Place the balls on a baking sheet and flatten them slightly.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the peppernuts cool on a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, dust the peppernuts with powdered sugar.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
