Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in the chopped pecans.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly browned.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar until coated.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, roll the cookies in powdered sugar again.
