No Fuss Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
The first chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938 when she added chopped up bits from a Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bar into a cookie recipe at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add the vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk to the butter mixture and mix well.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
