The muffuletta bread is a classic sandwich from New Orleans, named after the round Sicilian bread used to make it.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the round loaf of bread horizontally.
  3. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic cloves, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to make a dressing.
  4. Brush the inside of the bread with the dressing.
  5. Layer salami, ham, mortadella, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the bread.
  6. Spread olive salad on top of the cheese.
  7. Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich and press down firmly.
  8. Wrap the sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  11. Unwrap the sandwich, slice into quarters, and serve.
