  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the tomatoes into thick slices.
  3. Place the tomato slices on a baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the tomato slices.
  5. Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the tomatoes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and top each tomato slice with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
