  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a mini loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
